In short: This is a complete Zyphe KYB report, nine pages, generated in the Zyphe sandbox for a fictional Italian software company, ORVIETO DIGITAL S.R.L., on 9 July 2026. It contains five risk ratings, the business register record, a VAT check against the EU VIES service, the directors, all nine shareholders, the ownership chain traced through 23 entities to two beneficial owners, the beneficial-owner determination under Italian law, sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening for every subject, five years of financial statements, the status of each supporting document, and the source and date behind every value. Every company, person and figure in it is fictional, and no register or data source was queried to produce it.
Last reviewed 2026-10-01. Sandbox sample: fictional data, not a real verification, not for compliance use.

What is in a KYB report, section by section?
Eleven sections, in the order a reviewer reads them: the conclusion first, then the evidence behind it.
- §1
Executive summary and risk assessment
Five ratings (compliance, adverse media, ownership transparency, financial, operational), the company at a glance, a screening summary, and key findings written as sentences a reviewer can check against the sections that follow.
- §2
Company information
The registry record, the VAT number checked against VIES with the name and address the registry returns alongside it, and an explicit statement of whether the two match.
- §3
Activity and contact details
The activity as filed, with ATECO, NACE and ISIC codes, each value tagged with whether it came from the registry or a data provider.
- §4
Directors and legal representatives
Every current officer with role, date and place of birth, fiscal code and appointment date, plus a short board note that is labelled as AI-generated.
- §5
Shareholders and ownership
Every direct shareholder with nominal value and percentage, reconciled to the share capital, then the full control chain as a graph and a traversal completeness disclosure.
- §6
Ultimate beneficial owners
The four statutory tests applied in order, the owners identified with direct and effective percentages, and where each segment of the ownership record came from.
- §7
Sanctions, PEP and watchlist screening
One row per subject (the company, its controlling parent, each director and each beneficial owner) with the checks run, the result and the date.
- §8
Adverse media
The company, the controlling parent and the beneficial owners, with a dated no-hit statement.
- §9
Financial information
Five years of turnover, EBITDA, profit, balance sheet, capital and reserves and key ratios from the filed accounts, with an AI-generated reading of the trajectory that is labelled as such.
- §10
Document verification
Each document, where it came from (live registry, user upload, or orderable certified copy) and whether it was verified or not yet ordered.
- §11
Data sources and provenance
One row per section: the type of source, the register or provider, and the date the data is as of. Every value in the report traces to one of these rows.
How do you know where each value came from?
Every value carries one of four labels, and §11 lists the source and date behind each section. Text written by a model is marked as AI-generated wherever it appears.
Read live from an official register: the business register for the company record and the direct shareholders, and the registers of the other jurisdictions the ownership chain passes through.
Supplied by a licensed data provider, such as the filed annual accounts and the company telephone number.
Read by an agent from filed documents where no register states the link directly. Each one names the documents it read and carries a stated limitation, for example that the exact date a holding company became sole shareholder is not documented.
Produced by Zyphe's own sanctions, PEP, watchlist and adverse media screening, with the date each subject was checked.
How are the ownership chain and the beneficial owners determined?
The chain is traced from the company to natural persons, through every corporate shareholder, including the small ones. In the sample that is 23 entities and 22 ownership links across Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom and Guernsey, with 16 companies fetched and none skipped. A completeness disclosure states the outcome, so a branch left unexplored because of budget or missing register coverage would be reported, not hidden.
The beneficial owners are then determined by applying the statutory tests in order: ownership above 25%, control by other means, look-through of fund and holding vehicles, and only if those identify no one, the fallback to the senior managing officials. The sample cites the Italian rule it applies (Article 20 of Legislative Decree 231/2007) and records why each test did or did not apply. Two people hold more than 25% indirectly, at 27.4% and 26.2% effective.
Where a register does not state a link, an agent reads the filed documents instead, and the report says which documents and what they could not establish.
What does this sample not show?
A sample that only shows the easy case would oversell the product. These are its limits.
- Real data. Nothing was queried, the consultation numbers are placeholders, and the report must not be used as evidence for any onboarding or AML decision. A live report has the same structure, filled from real registry, provider and screening results.
- A screening hit. Every subject in this sample is clear, so it does not show how a sanctions, PEP or adverse media match is presented and resolved.
- An unresolved ownership branch. This chain was traced to its end. When a branch cannot be resolved, the completeness disclosure says so rather than leaving it out.
- The reviewer's decision. The two beneficial owners show identity verification "Not started": each owner and director is sent a linked KYC, and the KYB cannot be approved until those complete. That approval happens in the case afterwards, so it is not part of this PDF.
